Go live, pause, unpublish

Publishing is one deliberate press, and it is the only thing that exposes an agent to visitors.

The launch control#

The header of Agent & persona carries a capsule with three segments. They fill as each fact becomes true:

1. A verified domain — a host you have proven you own.
2. The script installed — the widget actually loading on that host.
3. Published — you pressing the button.

The label always names the next step, and every segment reads a real signal. The control cannot claim progress your account has not made.

Make it live#

Press Make it live on Agent & persona. That is it.

Installing the script does not do this for you. Until you press the button the installed script stays silent on your pages — installing and going live are deliberately separate steps, so you can install mid-week and launch when you choose.

The control acts here, on the agent's own page. Home shows the same three facts but only reports them and walks you here — so nobody publishes by brushing past a button on the way in.

Pausing#

Unpublish stops the agent immediately. You do not need to touch your website: the script tag stays exactly where it is, and visitors simply stop seeing the agent until you press Make it live again.

Unpublishing is instant and reversible. Use it freely — during an incident, over a weekend, while you rewrite a prompt.

What stays available while paused#

Everything except visitors:

• Agent preview still works on draft and paused agents.
• Your analytics keep every number already recorded.
• The Library, the knowledge, the guardrails are untouched.

Checking what state you are in#

The agent's status shows in three places that always agree: the launch capsule on Agent & persona, the status column on Agents, and the badge in the agent switcher. Live, Draft or Disabled.
